Real estate on the stock market mainly means REITs — companies that own and operate income-producing property and are required by law to distribute most of their earnings as dividends. Standard earnings-based metrics don't translate directly: REITs report FFO (funds from operations) rather than conventional net income, which makes P/E ratios misleading. P/B ratio is more useful, and dividend yield is central — most REIT investors are primarily income investors. The Piotroski F-Score applies with some limitations. The stocks in this list include both traditional REITs and real estate operating companies, filtered by value score.
